Utaizomeshiki First Chant and Dance in Celebration of the new year
KAMI UTA: Lead by the Grand Master of the Kongo School and his son,the concert version of Okina, is a celebration of peace and longevity symbolized by ancestor figures.
SHIMAI: Dance excerpts by performers in formal wear accompanied by a chorus of four.
MAIBAYASHI: IWAFUNE With great rejoicing, a Dragon-god brings a stone boat laden with treasures to the port of Sumiyoshi and presents it to Imperial envoys there, this is a performance in formal wear to the accompaniment of a small chorus and musical ensemble.
After the performance Omiki, sacred sake, will be served in the lobby by performers. Please feel free to join the line and enjoy a toast to the New Year! |
